This is a control system for a 5 motor textile dry can range. The system is housed in an e-house with all components prewired and tested. The e-house contains internal lighting and air conditioning. It is ideal for installation in plants where the environment is hostile to electronic systems and/or when no space is available for installation for conventional control system enclosures. The drives are Yaskawa G5 vector controlled AC. A common DC bus power supply is provided that allows sharing of energy between drives and provides a single point for bus energy dissipation through electronic braking. Power distribution to the drives is by bus bars which provides a clean look as well as eliminating bus voltage drops. The drives are controlled by a GE Fanuc 9030 PLC over a ProfibusDP network. ProfibusDP is a high-speed (up to 12MBaud) highly deterministic twisted pair network specifically designed for high-performance industrial control.
